United and Uniting continues the ongoing story of the United Church that Dr. Gunnemann began in his The Shaping of the United Church of Christ. From its beginning, the United Church of Christ has exhibited some singularly formative ecclesial ideas, expressed in the intention to be a united and uniting church. The author believes that from time to time these ideas need to be illustrated in the context of their ongoing expression and development.
