This is a set of three books that will aid you in preaching the gospels. Each book features a different gospel including the Gospel of Mark, the Gospel of Luke, and the Gospel of Matthew. In Preaching Luke's Gospel the author shows how the stories in the appointed texts of the Revised Common Lectionary relate to the other stories in Luke/Acts. In so doing, he opens up new discoveries for preaching. In Preaching Mark's Gospel the author helps you to approach the gospel with eyes wide open. He challenges preachers to tell the gospel's story to their congregations, and in doing so, emphasizes the strength of biblical stories. In Preaching Matthew's Gospel the author points to the ways in which the biblical writers lock their stories together with other stories in order to give fuller meaning to their narratives. He covers material that is not included in the assigned lectionary texts and discusses the inter-relatedness of Matthew's stories.
