Lizzie is an 8-year-old Amish girl who loves to read and run down hills and eat too many donuts. She wishes that she would slow down a little and think before she acts, then maybe she wouldn't find herself in trouble at school. Times are hard for Lizzie's family, and she and her older sister Emma are beginning to understand that there isn't enough money and the family might really be in trouble. Will the sisters be able to put aside their differences to support each other through their family's financial struggles, tragedy in their community, and yet more changes? Recommended for ages 8 to 12 years.
